FULL SEGMENT: 2012 Kings and Corn (Flow State)

What do ski racing and fishing have in common? Just ask World Cup racers Daron Rahlves, Marco Sullivan, and Tommy Moe. According to them, both activities involve a lot of luck.

On the heels of a disappointing 2011 season which ended in a crash when he sustained a concussion during a training run on the Stelvio course at Bormio, Marco Sullivan took a break from bashing gates and, along with fellow racer Daron Rahlves, went up to Alaska for some king salmon fishing and corn-snow heli-skiing adventures. Better yet, they were hosted by Tommy Moe, who after a long career on the U.S. Ski Team, retired to Alaska where he founded the Tordrillo Mountain Lodge.

With a floatplane, helicopter, and a slew of fishing boats at their disposal, these three World Cup racers slide into summer with some good ol’ carving and casting.
