Must Watch: Marcus Caston, Waterfalls, Fjords, and Iceland

Check out Marcus Caston's latest edit from the West Fjords in Iceland.

Warren Miller and Helly Hansen athlete, Marcus Caston teamed up with skier McKenna Peterson, videographer Matt Hardy, and photographer Mike Schirf to get footage skiing in the West Fjords, an extremely isolated peninsula in Northwest Iceland. To get the shots the team road tripped from Reykjavik to Hornstrandir Nature Reserve where they camped for three days. Without any sleds or lifts, they logged 12-hour days, hiking, skinning, and wading across rivers with nasty quicksand traps.

Just before sunset during his last day on skis, Caston was finally able to bag Skessuhorn, the “Icelandic Matterhorn.” High winds and severe weather during the previous week and even previous trips turned hopeful voyages into failed attempts at summiting, so the accomplishment and patience from the rest of the group meant a lot to Caston specifically. Aside from skiing Skessuhorn, the highlight of the trip for Caston is reliving it whenever he pleases simply by flipping through photos and footage with Hardy and Schrif.
