Constance Beverley and Dhani Jones out enjoying winter the way they know how.

The Long Underwear Podcast aims to strip off the layers and for this episode, Amie sits down with two entrepreneurs and industry leaders who bring unique voices to the winter sports industry and outdoor community as a whole.

Constance Beverley grew up in a family that loved winter sports but didn’t always have the resources to make it happen. In adulthood, she went from being a lawyer on Wall Street to being the CEO of Share Winter Foundation (SWF), a grantmaking organization that gives thousands of dollars annually to carefully selected grantee organizations that all work to improve the lives, health and fitness of youth through winter sports. In the 2019/2020 season, SWF worked with 26 program partners across 21 states and 61 ski areas while directly impacting the lives of more than 45,000 young people.

Constance Beverley grew up in the midwest wearing her dad's hand-me-downs to go snowboarding. Today, she is the CEO of Share Winter Foundation.

Dhani Jones  was a linebacker for the New York Giants, the New Orleans Saints, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Cincinnati Bengals. He’s hosted TV shows on the Travel Channel, VH1 and CNBC and is a successful businessman with ventures in everything from tech, to media, to philanthropy. He’s a passionate cyclist, telemark skier and world-traveler who’s goal is to never stop asking questions and to make his various communities a better place for everyone who inhabits them.

Dhani Jones is a former NFL player, but now you can find him cycling, telemark skiing and keeping his handsinvolved in multiple entrepreneurial ventures focussed on making the world a better place.

In this episode, Dhani, Constance and Amie explore many topics within the world of diversity, inclusion and developing more equal and sustainable business models in the winter sports industry. Among other things, the three talk about how the outdoor industry and ski industry will often fall short in marketing to specific demographics of people and how that can be improved. Dhani laughs about his love for telemark skiing and compares it to going to the symphony. Both Dhani and Constance emphasize what kind of doors are opened for young kids when they are offered the opportunity to go skiing or snowboarding, even just one time. And the three discuss how resorts, brands, and everyday outdoor enthusiasts can make a difference.
