Prizing

ONE (1) GRAND PRIZE: Winning edit will be played at all Warren Miller National Tour Stops in 2016, either at intermission or before the show, but not within the context of the Feature Film. Winner will recieve 8 tickets to the National Tour screening of their choice. 

Winner will also go on a trip to Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows in the 2016/17 season to film with Warren Miller Entertainment – either as an athlete or a cinematographer.
Trip Includes:

  • Domestic airfare OR partial fare for International flight
  • Transportation
  • Lodging
  • Lift Tickets (if necessary)
Winner will also recieve a full skis setup from HEAD, including skis, boots and bindings.

ONE (1) FIRST PLACE PRIZE: Winner will receive a prize from one of the contest’s sponsors (HEAD or Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows). Winner will also recieve 4 tickets to the National Tour screening of their choice. 

All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply; void where prohibited. PRIZES MAY BE SUBJECT TO TAX; ALL APPLICABLE TAXES ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE WINNER.

Eligibility

The Contest is open only to individuals, eighteen (18) years or older at time of entry.

Employees of Active Interest Media, HEAD, Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows and their parent companies, subsidiaries or agents, their immediate families (defined as parents, children, siblings, spouse and grandparents), and those domiciled with any of the foregoing are not eligible.

Entry

All entrants must submit an original video showcasing your skill either as a snowsports athlete or as a cinematographer/video editor.

Please try to keep your edits under three minutes in length. Edits must be submitted by May 27, 2016 at 5:00pm MST. Entries received after that date will be deemed ineligible to win.

All information provided by entrant must be complete, true and correct.

All submitted entries become the property of Sponsor. By submitting footage, you are authorizing Warren Miller Entertainment to use and feature the edit on warrenmiller.com and its social media channels.

All components of the entry must be the original creation of the submitting participant. Only non-commercial work may be submitted. Entries may not contain profanity, nudity, pornographic images, violent images, anti-competition messages, illegal material, or material that violates the rights of third parties. Entries may not include confidential information, trade secrets, trademarks or copyrighted material belonging to any person or entity other than the entrant absent a suitable license or permission agreement, proof of which is required. Entries containing any forbidden matter or material otherwise deemed by Sponsor to be inappropriate will be disqualified. Online entries will be deemed submitted by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at time of entry. One entry per person; multiple entries will be disqualified.

All decisions by WME are final. WME reserves the right to make any changes to the format, rules, and submission requirements at anytime during the contest.

Video & Music Specifications

Winner must be able to provide to Warren Miller Entertainment the winning edit in the following specs:
Codec: Apple Prores 422 (HQ)
Frames Per Second: 23.98
Resolution: 1920 x 1080 Full HD 16:9

Music
We cannot play an edit during the National Film Tour that does not have proper music licensing.
1. Music in the submission must be licensed for commercial use by the entrant. The entrant would have had to pay any licensing fees associated with the use.
OR
2. If a contestant is not able to license music of their choice, there are many free/economical music libraries online, for example: https://freemusicarchive.org

Voting & Judging

There will be three rounds of voting beginning June 1, 2016 at 9:00am MST. Voting is open to the public, and entrants are encouraged to share the contest to motive their social network to vote for their submission.

At the end of the first round on July 1 at 10am MST, the 16 videos with the most votes will move on to the next round. All votes will be reset to zero (0).

At the end of the second round on Aug 5 at 10am MST, the 8 videos with the most votes will move on to the next round. All votes will be reset to zero (0).

At the end of the third round on Aug 29 at 11:59pm MST, the 4 videos with the most votes will be put before a panel of judges including Jeremy Jones, JT Holmes, Jonny Moseley and representatives from Warren Miller Entertainment, HEAD and Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows. The judges will not be given vote counts on the final four so as not to influence the outcome. The panel of judges will select the GRAND PRIZE winner based on submitter’s talent either as a cinematographer/editor OR as a winter sport athlete. Of the remaining three finalists, the video with the most fan votes will be awarded the FIRST PLACE prize.

Sponsor collects personal information from entrants when they enter a sweepstakes. Information collected by Sponsor online is subject to Sponsor’s Privacy Policy. In accordance with applicable law and with Sponsor’s Privacy Policy, the information you provide may be sent to affiliates and marketing partners of the Sponsor; you may be contacted by the Sponsor and/or promotional partners with future promotional offers. Entrants may opt-out of marketing or promotional communications from Sponsor’s affiliates and marketing partners on the online entry form. Consenting to receive such emails and information is optional, and is not necessary to enter or win any sweepstakes or the Giveaway, nor will it increase or improve your chances of winning.
