Athletes Sam Smoothy and Ted Davenport (Chris Davenport’s younger brother) wisely both dressed to stand out on camera.

Davenport and Smoothy are dropped off by the helicopter and wait to ski their lines. They both spent a few days skiing and filming with the Warren Miller crew for the 2011 flick.

Ted Davenport, recent winner of the World Heli Challenge, was joined by New Zealand local and World Heli Challenge competitor Sam Smoothy.

Smoothy and Davenport skied with Southern Lakes Heli, just outside of Wanaka and Queenstown.

With access to over 5,000 square kilometers of skiable terrain, Smoothy and Davenport had plenty of southern-hemi style snow.

Renowned Warren Miller videographer, Tom Day, made the trip down to NZ to shoot with these big-mountain athletes.
