Warren Miller’s Timeless Tunes

The Timeless soundtrack celebrates the past 70 years of ski cinematography with a wide range of genres and artists. Everything from the classic sound of Mel Tormé to the energetic vibes of Lizzo - there is something for everyone.

The soundtrack to Warren Miller’s “Timeless” presented by Volkswagen celebrates seven decades of chasing winter. Each year producers comprise a playlist of unique genres and moods that harmoniously blend with the visuals on the big screen. The sounds of winter rings across the globe, from the slopes of the Colorado Rockies to the rooftop of the Alps, and the steeps at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort to Mustang Powder Lodge in the Monashee Mountains in British Columbia.

Associate producer Ian Anderson gave insight into the process behind choosing music that each viewer can relate to while complimenting the action taking place on screen. Anderson explains, “Every piece of music serves a purpose in the film and you really need to hear it all to get a true sense of why each piece is so critical to each individual edit.”

If you're looking for music to add to your skiing playlist this year, take a listen to the "Timeless" soundtrack, which includes artists like Beck and Greta Van Fleet. To get your winter started, we listed some of our favorites below.

  • Into Happiness - Phantogram. This fast paced song closes Anderson’s favorite segment from “Timeless” in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. This track highlights the epic skiing and riding in the wild west.

  • Boys - Lizzo. The bold attitude of breakout artist Lizzo sets the tempo for skiers and riders in the Eldora segment.

  • Mountains - Sia, Labrinth, and Diplo. The moody melody of the song compliments the enormously vast mountains of Chaminox. The change of pace throughout the track works in perfect combination with the steep powder turns.

  • Mountain Of The Sun - Greta Van Fleet. Often compared the great Led Zeppelin, the young rock band uses their unique voice to create the pace for Amie Engerbretson and Tyler Ceccanti in Bella Coola.
