Listen to NSP’s Podcast – Ski Patrol Radio

The Ski Patrol Radio podcast covers hot topics and interesting stories related to ski patrolling, bike patrolling, and all things service and safety in the outdoors. In a recent episode we sit down with Kolina Coe, the Assistant Director and a dog handler at Northstar California, and Kristen Russo, the Assistant Patrol Director at Holiday Valley in New York state. We discuss their experiences as being women in the traditionally male-dominated world of ski patrolling, what has changed over the years, and what still needs to be improved.

Learn To Be An Outdoor First Responder

National Ski Patrol offers training programs for ski and bike patrollers and mountain hosts that are recognized by resorts and recreational facilities in all 50 states as the standard of training for emergency care in an outdoor environment. Outdoor Emergency Care is NSP’s signature course offering, and is an emergency medical responder course tailored to the non-urban rescuer. The course is required of all NSP patroller members and is offered primarily through NSP patrols.

If you’d like to learn more about Outdoor Emergency Care, or any of NSP’s education programs, visit our website at nsp.org, or contact a local patrol to find a course.
