The Sound Behind Warren Miller’s Face of Winter

From Odezsa to Nine Inch nails, Warren Miller’s “Face of Winter”, presented by Volkswagen delivers all the ski stoke.

This year’s new film “Face of Winter” presented by Volkswagen features a soundtrack like none other before.  Artists like LCD Soundsystem, Weezer, Odesza are some of the artists included to name a few.

“We always try to outdo ourselves with the soundtrack each year, and it’s not easy, but this year is an incredible mix of genres and moods that blend with the visuals harmoniously,” says producer Josh Haskins.

Haskins on standout tracks:

  • Girls Like You – Maroon 5 feat. Cardi B. “On the day of our world premiere this song logged a third week at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, that’s a big freaking deal! I think people like it. Works great with the imagery in Iceland.”
  • La Dee Da – Foo Fighters. “We’ve been fortunate to feature Foo Fighters in previous movies, but this track off their latest album just simply rocks, it’s a powerhouse that drives the opening montage and sets the pace of the movie.”
  • Familiar – Agnes Obel. “Described as ‘gorgeously intimate’, Agnes Obel’s track sets the tone for the Denali segment and lends to the enormously vast mountains and glaciers represented in the film.”
  • Wild World – Space Invadas feat. Remi. “Australian hip hop duo creates a beautiful blend of soul and hip hop that works in perfect combination with dreamy deep powder turns.”

In addition, there are two tracks from AWOLNATION, and the hits keep coming with Nine Inch Nails, Son Lux, Gogol Bordello, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Glitch Mob, The Heavy, Washed Out, Dan Deacon, Jens Kuross, Electric Eye and more.
