SIA Snow Show 2013 And Icelantic's Winter On The Rocks
SnowSports Industries America Snow Show 2013 is the snow sports industries biggest trade show held in Denver, CO. Every company, manufacturer and ski area that you can think of sends representatives from all over the world to talk about what's new in the industry. We were there to bring you highlights from the technology, gear and, of course, the afterparties.
- DC Snowboard DesignsDC snowboards has some colorful designs lined up for 2013 involving naughty nuns.
- Arbor SkateboardsArbor boards started up in 1995 with a need to take responsibility for the impact their products have on the environment. They design their products around the goal of replacing as many environmentally harmful materials as possible, with functional, ecologically based alternatives. They also sport mind-blowing designs in their 2013 collection of skateboards.
- GoPro Footage In 3DWhat's cooler than watching epic POV footage from your last epic powder day? Watching it in 3D. GoPro provided 3D glasses and some ridiculous footage for all the SIA attendees to feast their eyes on.
- Free Tattoos So often tattoos are regretted, even more so when they're spontaneous. Therefore, getting a free tattoo from Arnette Sunglasses at the SIA Snow Show is obviously a bad decision. Regardless, the "Free Tattoo" sign up sheet was booked to capacity. Experiential marketing at it's best.
- Ski and Snowboard Simulator The SkyTechSport Interactive Ski & Snowboard Simulator reproduces the skiing and snowboarding experience. This is probably the coolest video game we've ever seen and it provides a workout for more than just your thumbs. If you saw anyone walking around SIA out of breath and dripping sweat, they probably just came from the ski simulator.
- Throw Back ThursdaySkiing Magazine editor, Kevin Luby, was looking super steezy in his retro onesie. This and many other awesomely ridiculous outfits were seen throughout SIA.
- The GoPro MobileWhen action and adventure need to be captured and shared, GoPro is ready with this insane truck/sled ready-for-anything combo.
- Kaylin Richardson With Helly HansenKaylin Richardson shows off Helly Hansen's newest breakthrough in outdoor gear. This inside-out view displays their Flow System that's designed to keep you cool during activity and warm while resting.
- Spyder AfterpartySpyder definitely knows how to throw a party. Sweet rides on display from Audi, free beer from Carlsberg, delicious fare from local food trucks and DJs dropping the beats are the perfect ingredients for good times.
- Warren Miller Entertainment Tent at Red RocksDay 2 of SIA: We hiked up to Morrison, CO to set up a booth at the top of Red Rocks Amphatheatre in preparation for Icelantic's Winter on the Rocks. The sold out concert was headlined by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis and included artists like Major Lazor and The Grouch & Eligh.
- Shredding the Half PipeThis little girl was shredding the half pipe as the sun set on Morrison, Colorado. The half pipe was one of many fun pre-show activities set up in the parking lot of Red Rocks Amphitheater prior to Icelantic's Winter on the Rocks concert.
- Free Snacks to Keep Fans WarmCoffee and donuts were served to keep fans warm while they waited in the parking lot of Red Rocks Amphitheatre for Icelantic's Winter on the Rocks to begin.
- Macklemore Fans in Thrifted GearAt Icelantic's Winter on the Rocks, fans dressed appropriately in their vintage thrifted garb, paying homage to headlining artist Macklemore's hit song, "Thrift Shop".
- Hot Cocoa bar in the VIP LoungeTaking refuge from the cold, this happy fan made herself a warm drink at the hot cocoa bar courtesy of Whole Foods.
- Macklemore Playing to a Sold Out Red RocksMacklemore dawned one of his infamous thrift shop furs while performing in front of a sold out crowd at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on February 1st for Icelantic's Winter on the Rocks.
- Macklemore Rocks Red RocksSeattle based hip-hop artists Macklemore and Ryan Lewis amped up the crowd with their Billboard Hit "Thrift Shop".
- Die-Hard Fans Rock OutOver 9,000 fans braved the cold to see Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Major Lazer, the Grouch & Eligh live at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, some of them waiting in line hours before the show started.
- Winter on the Rocks StageEquipped with an insane light show and pyrotechnics, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis destroyed the stage at Red Rocks Amphitheater during Icelantic's Winter on the Rocks.
