Shred Optics 2013 Soaza Goggle
- Founded By US Olympic Gold Medalist and World Cup Racer Ted Ligety
Shred Optics was born when US Olympic Gold Medalist and World Cup racer Ted Ligety teamed up with skier and engineer Carlo Salmini. The company they formed was based on the idea that pushing your limits and having fun are one and the same. They also wanted to make high quality products that ensured an optimal skiing or riding experience. With that philosophy we were excited to try the top of the Shred Optics line Soaza goggle, for its fun frames and high quality visuals.

- No Distortion Lens
The Soaza uses a lens developed and patented by Shred called the No Distortion lens; a thermal double walled lens designed to adjust to varying altitudes without different air pressures distorting the vision field. A red PORON™ filter allows air molecules to pass through the lenses, but keeps water molecules from infiltrating the space between the lenses for anti-fog action. Polarization keeps your vision safe from high altitude sunshine with 100% UVA, UVB, and UVC blocking.

- The Frames
The frames have a great wide peripheral vision, and the anti-fogging technology was really put to the test on a backcountry mission when this skier forgot sunglasses and substituted the Soazas for eye protection on the ascent. When it came time for the descent, all was clear and crisp in the visual field – a welcome relief.

- Funky and Original Look
The goggles look funky and original, with multiple colored frames to pick from, easily changeable lenses, and a huge choice of aftermarket lens options. The Soaza may not be the cheapest goggle on the market, but with all it can do for your shredding with unimpeded vision, they are worth the $179 price tag.
