Sounds from Winter Starts Now

The Winter Starts Now soundtrack celebrates the past 72 years of ski cinematography with a wide range of genres and artists. Everything from artists who have been featured before such as X Ambassadors to the newcomers like Rising Appalachia - there is something for everyone.

The soundtrack to Warren Miller’s “Winter Starts Now” is the emergence from a year no one could've ever predicted to the excitement & joy of the upcoming 2021/2022 ski season. Each year producers comprise a playlist of unique genres and moods that harmoniously blend with the visuals on the big screen. This year we found the best powder and spring skiing in our own backyard, from Howelesen Hill to Sun Valley and the newly minted Palisades Tahoe, all the way up to Denali. This soundtrack is sure to inspire you to get back out there and find the fire on the slopes.

If you're looking for music to add to your skiing playlist this year, take a listen to the "Winter Starts Now" soundtrack, which includes artists like GRIZ and Greta Van Fleet. To get your winter started, Marketing Coordinator Arriana Velasco listed some of her favorites below.

Top Picks

  • The Show Starts Now by Cloud Cult

I saw Cloud Cult play in college for the first time. I was immediately in love with their ambiant beats and flowing melodies. Plus I'm a Minnesota native and so are the band members so I'm a tad bias.

  • Wasteland by LOWLIFE, RAT BOY, AND MILA

You can't have a shred playlist without a little rap with a hint of dubstep on one track.

  • Adrenaline by X Ambassadors

When I lived in Big Sky I drove the Gallatin Canyon frequently. X Ambassadors were always on Sirus XM. This song gives me all of the nostalgic feels for a good cruise through a scenic area. In addition to a cruise, it also gets me fired up for ski season.
