Name a person who inspires you to be a better skier?

My mom. She started a new tradition for herself, each year she wants to ski her age (1 year=1 day skiing). So this year she skied 71 days. Next winter will be (at least) 72. She inspires me. Never stop skiing.

Breakfast of champions?

Breakfast for dinner is really the way to go! Sourdough waffles with whipped cream and berries and walnuts and allllllllll of the syrup.

The most interesting thing you've red or seen this year?

Just listened to Malcom Gladwell’s Revisionist History, it was an episode about dogs, their sense of smell and Covid-19, called The Dog Will See You Now. So good! Highly recommend giving it a listen. It was great insight and inspiring after working with an avalanche dog this past winter.

Highlight memory from filming with WME for this year's film?

Heli skiing!! I had NEVER been in a helicopter, let alone skiing from one! Also, eating with the WME crew at Irving’s, the longtime, local hotdog stand at the base of the mountain.

What do you do to calm your butterflies before a big line/race/moment?

Calming butterflies can be oh so similar and yet different when responding to an emergency. But a mentor of mine, from the fire department, taught me to stomp my feet before responding to better ground myself and those butterflies.

Favorite classic ski film and why?

Out Cold for sure! Our house traditionally throws an “Out Cold Fest” to celebrate my roommate, Annie DeAngelo's birthday which consists of an Out Cold screening, king/queen-of-the-mountain-mountain-mountain sledding competition and so much more.

What is your number one goal in skiing/riding right now?
I've always thought that the most important aspect in skiing is to be good in all aspects of skiing. My number one goal has always been to be well-rounded.

Current favorite piece of gear? Why?
That's easy - my Volkl 100EIGHTs - super light and tough. They're my favorite ski for any conditions; be it groomers, deep pow and everything in between.

Best advice you were ever given?
"Always do your best." - Mom

Where do you draw your inspiration from?
In Utah, we have so many top level skiers and riders that excel in all different aspects of skiing... Slopestyle, Halfpipe, Big Mountain, Freestyle and all the rest. Plus the fact that we have some of the best terrain and epic amounts of snow. It's a perfect storm to create a very progressive and exciting arena. I think that my inspiration comes from being a part of that arena. I'm always pushed by watching Julian Carr jump off massive cliffs or Marcus Caston slicing through powder like an expert surgeon or Joss Christensen winning a Gold medal for our country. I feel very lucky to be able to share these mountains with the best in the world! And it makes me want to add my own flavor to the mix too.

What is your greatest fear?
Missing a powder day! duh

Best moment filming with WME this year?
The best moment was every moment! The first ski movie I ever watched was a Warren Miller movie. From then on, I always hoped I could be in one. So it's kind of a little kids dream come true. I'm super grateful I got the call and was able to ski with a great crew with great snow in a great place!

Name a person who inspires you to be a better skier?

Michelle Parker

Favorite chairlift and why?

The Stoke!!!! (In Revelstoke) Hot laps on the STOKE all day baby!!!! It provides access to my favorite terrain on earth. Nothing beats hot lapping the stoke with a sendy crew on a pow day!

Fictitious character you most identify with from a book, movie, etc. and why?

Cookie Monster! "Friend something better than chocolate Ice-cream... maybe friend somebody you give up last cookie for." It's as simple as that.

Favorite classic ski film and why?

Blizzard of Aahhh's. Greg Stump changed my life with that film. After watching It I knew I wanted to ski as much as humanly possible and maybe one day grow up to ski like Kim Reichhelm. I feel like it changed skiing and action sports film making forever.
